Christina Perri has filed for divorce from husband Paul Costabile after seven years of marriage.
As per court documents per People magazine, the 39-year-old singer filed the paperwork on Monday, November 3, at the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Perri and Costabile, who married on December 12, 2017, share two daughters — Carmella Stanley, 7, and Pixie Rose, 3. The filing lists their official date of separation as November 3.
A Thousand Years hitmaker is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their children and has also asked that the court deny any request for spousal support.
The documents confirm that the couple signed a prenuptial agreement dated December 11, 2017.
The pair’s relationship began years before their marriage, with Costabile sharing a heartfelt post when they wed in 2017. “Four years ago today I met my dream girl in this room. Four years later today I married my dream girl and best friend,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Pretty sure I’m the proudest I’ve EVER been to be able to call the most bellissima person + woman I’ve ever known now my wife. Whoa. I thank God for the gift of her, our relationship, our bambino on the way, our family’s love and support and this unforgettable year.”
Their first daughter, Carmella, was born in January 2018. Perri later revealed she suffered a miscarriage in January 2020 and, after becoming pregnant again, shared the devastating news that their baby was “born silent” that November. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Pixie, in October 2022.
In April, Perri released a children’s book inspired by her hit song A Thousand Years.
