Deborra-Lee Furness might finally be ready to tell her side of the story.
According to British journalist Rob Shuter, the Australian actress is reportedly shopping around a bombshell tell-all book about her high-profile divorce from Hugh Jackman earlier this year.
Furness was reportedly spotted in New York City last week meeting with a major publisher to discuss what insiders describe as a “bold, emotional memoir about love, identity, and starting over.”
“She was all smiles, but it looked serious,” a publishing insider told Shuter. “There were sample pages, lots of notes — it had the energy of a book deal negotiation.”
Friends of the actress claim Furness is eager to “reclaim her voice” after years of being known primarily as Jackman’s wife. “She spent years being known as Hugh’s wife. Now she wants to be known for her truth,” one friend told Shuter.
Furness, 69, filed for divorce from the Wolverine actor, 57, in May, nearly two years after they first announced their separation. The couple had been married since 1996 and share two adopted children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20.
In May, Furness reflected on “the traumatic journey of betrayal” in a candid statement to the Daily Mail about her split. “I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us,” she wrote.
The exes finalised their divorce that same month, reportedly dividing a $387 million real estate portfolio.
Just weeks later, Jackman went public with his new girlfriend, Broadway star Sutton Foster, making their red-carpet debut at the premiere of his film Song Sung Blue.
